Vymote

Philips TV remote on your iPhone

For Philips models with Google TV / Android TV. Vymote works over your home Wi‑Fi — no infrared needed.

Philips TVs come with different systems. Vymote works with the Philips models that run Google TV or Android TV, through Android TV Remote Service, which is built into the TV.

Philips Roku TV models work with Vymote too — see the Roku help page

Connect your iPhone as a remote

  1. Turn the TV on and connect the iPhone to the same Wi‑Fi network as the TV.
  2. Open Vymote, tap “Find Your TV” and allow access to the Local Network.
  3. Choose your Philips TV in the list. If it isn’t there, tap “My TV Isn’t Listed” and enter the TV’s IP address from its network settings.
  4. A code appears on the TV screen. Type it in Vymote within a minute.
  5. Done — your iPhone is the remote. Next time Vymote connects to this TV without a code.

Turn the TV on from iPhone

Turn on one setting on the TV once — then the Power button in Vymote can turn the TV on. It depends on the model — tap Test Now in Vymote to check yours.

  1. On the TV: Settings → System → Power & energy → Network standby (or Wake on Wi‑Fi, Wake on LAN) — on.
  2. Settings → System → Power & energy → Power mode: Quick start (or Standby), not Eco.
  3. Settings → Apps → See all apps → Show system apps → Android TV Remote Service → Clear data, then unplug the TV for a minute.

Check the network

Most connection problems come from the network, not from the TV. These steps help with every TV.

  1. Connect the iPhone to the same Wi‑Fi network as the TV — not a guest network. With two networks (2.4 and 5 GHz), both must be on the same router.
  2. Turn off VPN on the iPhone, and iCloud Private Relay for this network: Settings → Wi‑Fi → ⓘ next to your network → Limit IP Address Tracking — off.
  3. Allow Vymote on the local network: iPhone Settings → Privacy & Security → Local Network → Vymote — on.
  4. Restart the Wi‑Fi router: unplug it for 30 seconds. Wait until the TV and the iPhone are back on Wi‑Fi.

The TV is off or asleep

  1. Turn the TV on with its remote, then tap Try Again.
  2. To turn the TV on from the iPhone next time, open Settings → My TVs → Turn On from iPhone in Vymote.

Still not working

  1. Unplug the TV from power for a minute, plug it back in and try again.
  2. Check the network: the same Wi‑Fi, VPN and iCloud Private Relay off, Local Network access, a router restart
