Hisense TV remote on your iPhone
For Hisense models with Google TV / Android TV. Vymote works over your home Wi‑Fi — no infrared needed.
Hisense sells TVs with different systems. Vymote works with the Hisense models that run Google TV or Android TV: it connects over your Wi‑Fi through Android TV Remote Service, which is built into the TV.
Hisense Roku TV models work with Vymote too — see the Roku help page
Connect your iPhone as a remote
- Turn the TV on and connect the iPhone to the same Wi‑Fi network as the TV.
- Open Vymote, tap “Find Your TV” and allow access to the Local Network.
- Choose your Hisense TV in the list. If it isn’t there, tap “My TV Isn’t Listed” and enter the TV’s IP address from its network settings.
- A code appears on the TV screen. Type it in Vymote within a minute.
- Done — your iPhone is the remote. Next time Vymote connects to this TV without a code.
Turn the TV on from iPhone
Turn on one setting on the TV once — then the Power button in Vymote can turn the TV on. It depends on the model — tap Test Now in Vymote to check yours.
- On the TV: Settings → System → Power & energy → Network standby (or Wake on Wi‑Fi, Wake on LAN) — on.
- Settings → System → Power & energy → Power mode: Quick start (or Standby), not Eco.
- Settings → Apps → See all apps → Show system apps → Android TV Remote Service → Clear data, then unplug the TV for a minute.
Fix the connection
The TV closes the connection
Your TV is blocking the connection. This happens with all remote apps, not only Vymote — usually it’s fixed in 1–2 minutes.
- On the TV: Settings → Apps → See all apps → Show system apps → Android TV Remote Service → Clear data.
- Unplug the TV from power for a minute, plug it back in and turn it on.
- Update Android TV Remote Service: Google Play on the TV → search “Android TV Remote Service” → Update.
- Check the network: the same Wi‑Fi, VPN and iCloud Private Relay off, Local Network access, a router restart
No answer on the TV
- Tap Try Again and type the code from the TV screen within a minute.
- No code on the TV? On the TV: Settings → Apps → See all apps → Show system apps → Android TV Remote Service → Clear data, then unplug the TV for a minute.
The TV’s remote service is off
- Update Android TV Remote Service: Google Play on the TV → search “Android TV Remote Service” → Update.
- On the TV: Settings → Apps → See all apps → Show system apps → Android TV Remote Service → Clear data, then unplug the TV for a minute.
The TV isn’t found
- Turn the TV on with its remote and wait until its home screen appears.
- Check the network: the same Wi‑Fi, VPN and iCloud Private Relay off, Local Network access, a router restart
Check the network
Most connection problems come from the network, not from the TV. These steps help with every TV.
- Connect the iPhone to the same Wi‑Fi network as the TV — not a guest network. With two networks (2.4 and 5 GHz), both must be on the same router.
- Turn off VPN on the iPhone, and iCloud Private Relay for this network: Settings → Wi‑Fi → ⓘ next to your network → Limit IP Address Tracking — off.
- Allow Vymote on the local network: iPhone Settings → Privacy & Security → Local Network → Vymote — on.
- Restart the Wi‑Fi router: unplug it for 30 seconds. Wait until the TV and the iPhone are back on Wi‑Fi.
The TV is off or asleep
- Turn the TV on with its remote, then tap Try Again.
- To turn the TV on from the iPhone next time, open Settings → My TVs → Turn On from iPhone in Vymote.
Still not working
- Unplug the TV from power for a minute, plug it back in and try again.
- Check the network: the same Wi‑Fi, VPN and iCloud Private Relay off, Local Network access, a router restart
