Privacy Policy
Last updated: October 28, 2026
This policy explains how Vymote: TV Remote Control (“Vymote”, “the app”) for iPhone and Apple Watch handles your information. Vymote is made by NEMESIDA SMART DATA LTD (registration HE 465547), Theofilou Georgiadi 3E, Agios Athanasios, 4103 Limassol, Cyprus (“we”, “us”).
The short version
- Vymote talks to your TV directly over your home Wi‑Fi. What you watch, the buttons you press and the names of your TVs stay on your iPhone.
- There is no account. We don’t sell data and we don’t track you across other companies’ apps and websites.
- Photos and videos you show on the TV go from your iPhone straight to the TV over your Wi‑Fi. They are never uploaded to us or anyone else.
- A few service providers help us run subscriptions and count which features are used, as listed below.
What stays on your iPhone
- Your TVs — names, network addresses, the Wi‑Fi (MAC) address you may enter for turning the TV on, and pairing keys the TV issues. They are kept on your iPhone (and shared with Vymote’s widgets and Apple Watch app on your devices).
- Settings and the sleep timer — kept on your iPhone.
- Photos and videos you cast — Vymote prepares a copy in its temporary folder and serves it to your TV over your home network; the copy is deleted when you pick new items.
- Local Network access — iOS asks for it so Vymote can find your TV. Vymote uses it only to talk to TVs on your network.
Information processed by service providers
- RevenueCat — RevenueCat, Inc. (USA). Manages Vymote Pro subscriptions: an anonymous app user ID, purchase history and, when you came from an Apple Search Ads ad, Apple’s attribution token. Privacy policy
- TelemetryDeck — TelemetryDeck GmbH (Germany, EU). Anonymous usage statistics (which features are used). No personal data; you can switch it off in Settings → Privacy. Privacy policy
Apple processes your payment when you subscribe. We never receive your payment details. Siri requests are handled by Apple under Apple’s privacy policy.
Data collected
- Product interaction (which features are used) — used for analytics.
- Purchase history (your Vymote Pro subscription) — used for app functionality, analytics.
None of this data is linked to your identity, and none of it is used to track you.
Tracking
Vymote does not track you and does not show ads. If you installed Vymote from an Apple Search Ads ad, Apple provides a token that tells which campaign it was; it is passed to RevenueCat without identifying you and without asking for tracking permission. You can switch off anonymous usage statistics in Vymote → Settings → Privacy → Share Anonymous Analytics.
Children
Vymote is not directed at children under 13 and we don’t knowingly collect information from them.
How long we keep information
Anonymous usage statistics are kept by TelemetryDeck for up to 24 months. Subscription records are kept by RevenueCat for as long as needed to provide your subscription and to meet legal obligations.
Your rights
Depending on where you live (including the EU and the UK under the GDPR), you can ask for access to, correction or deletion of information about you, object to or restrict its processing, and complain to a data protection authority — in Cyprus, the Commissioner for Personal Data Protection. Because Vymote has no account and the data above is not linked to your identity, we usually cannot find data about a particular person; write to us and we will help as far as we can.
Changes
We will update this page when Vymote changes how it handles information and change the date at the top.
